Three men were hospitalized with serious injuries following a fight Sunday evening near a sports complex in Spring Valley Sunday evening, officials said. The fight was reported at 6:49 p.m. on Sweetwater Lane, near Birch Street, said Sgt. Bill Walkup of the sheriff's department. Deputies responded to a report of several men assaulting one man. They found three injured men when they arrived, Walkup said. Two had been stabbed and one had been beaten. Paramedics transported the injured men to hospitals in San Diego. Deputies were looking for three men who were last seen running north through a field at the sports complex, Walkup said. Two of the men were described as black and muscular with short hair. They were wearing tank top shirts. One of the men was 5 feet 8 inches, while the other was 6 feet tall. Witnesses described the third man as black, 5 feet 8 inches, weighing about 200 pounds and chubby. He wore a white tank top shirt. Deputies were still investigating what prompted the fight.
